The Blau Project Middle School
where learning is joyful and students thrive
History and Philosophy
If the shoe doesn’t fit, is it the foot’s fault?
Of course not. You keep trying on different shoes until you find the best fit for your particular foot.
Yet this is not what most children in most American classrooms experience.
We keep expecting children to change to fit the shape of the school rather than changing our schools to fit the ways children learn. Schools ought to be places where students thrive.
Two years ago, I started my own school where I provide a safe, nurturing learning environment in which my students thrive socially and emotionally, academically and creatively. Drawing upon my 35 years of experience in instructional design, curriculum development, and classroom teaching coupled with four college degrees in education and psychology, current research on how the brain learns, and best practices in education, I design each learning experience around the strengths, needs, and interests of each student.
While no school is the right fit for every child, my school might be just the right fit for your child.
I invite you both to come for a visit so you can experience for yourselves the student-centered, hands-on, interactive, joyful ways teaching and learning happen here at The Blau Project Middle School.
